A Great Big Sled asked:

I would like to go for a degree that would get my foot in the door for a translating/interpreting foreign languages career, but really don’t know what to go with. I don’t want to learn just one language, I’d like to learn 3 or 4, and I really don’t want to learn a bunch of the native literature. I’d like to learn the modern tongues, and that’s about it. I can’t really find anything up this ally other then single language majors, or linguistics. Is it possible to triple or quadruple major in say French, Spanish, Portuguese, and maybe something else? Or would linguistics be better? I really don’t care much about syntax and morphology and all that, though. Or maybe I should go with something like engineering and just load up on electives? I’m really not sure here. I don’t want a stupid major that won’t help you get a job like a BA in World Peace or something as equally retarded. My brother recommended an engineering degree, but I see those only have like 8 electives. Thanks.

Is it important to have a degree in web page development?

Kristi788 asked:

I use to be attending school to obtain a BS in Digital Media. I recently left the school because of the cost of tuition and deciding the major there wasn’t right for me. I’m currently at community college getting a degree in medical office technology and finding the classes extremely boring. I’m engaged and to be married in 2009, my husband will have still a year left for his degree so we’ll be living in an apartment while he finishes. I will need to get a job immediately so I don’t have time to change my major right now since I have a short time frame to finish my degree while working part-time.

Though, after my fiancé finishes his degree I’m considering going back to school for web page design. Though, I’ve been told before depending on how good your portfolio is you can be a web page designer without a degree. I’m still assuming it’s very important to have a degree no matter what you’re doing. For you that are already web page designers how important is it to have an AS or BS?

Does this college degree sound stupid ?

robot heart asked:

So like everyone else I want a college degree that will lead me to a job that I like and will pay well. I had this idea for an interdisciplinary degree(one that I get to make up with university approval)- to major in Media Production and Writing, and then get an MBA in business admin.
Does this sound like I’ll get any job at all ? And if so, I’m curious to know what job would you think I would qualify for.
Thanks in advance !

What is the degree called where you work for non government organizations?

Laughing all the way asked:

I know there is a degree in this, and I don’t know what it’s called. If you have it can you please explain to me what you can do with this degree? I don’t need a lot of money and I would not be taking this for the money. Was it hard to find a job with this? Please tell me everything you know. There is a possibility that this is the perfect degree for me to study. Thank you!
